1. What will the 1st edition of the Dublin Fibre Festival be like?

Our 1st edition will take place at the Gymnasium in Richmond Barracks located in Dublin 8, on Saturday 26 October 2024, and it will be open to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our festival is a small one in support of local small businesses. There will be a couple of workshops and talks at the same location and day. More information TBA.

2. Who can apply as a vendor/exhibitor?

All the fibre-related artists, artisans and guilds are welcome.

3. How can I participate as a vendor/exhibitor?

Please note: everyone who wants to participate in the festival with an allocated space/table should apply through this form, regardless of whether they are selling or not selling products/services.

4. Is this an indoor or outdoor event?

The main event will happen indoors, however, we have a beautiful and big garden at the venue and there will be food vendors in that area, suitable for socialising.

5. Will there be any demonstrations and/or a stage?

We won’t have a stage. However, we might have some spinning and similar demonstrations going on in the garden under the red tent.

6. How can I attend one or more workshops?

Currently, we have two workshops at different times on the day of the festival and you can easily participate in both of them. Please head out to the workshop page and read the details of each workshop and the process for participation.

7. How can I buy my ticket(s) to Dublin Fibre Festival?

We won’t pre-sell tickets. You can buy your ticket(s) at the door at the time of your entrance by card or cash. You can enter with your ticket to the venue multiple times. The ticket fee is 10 Euros. Free admission for children up to 12 and people with disabilities.

8. Will there be a cloakroom?

There are toilets on the premises but we won’t have any place for your jackets, bags, etc. The toilets in Richmond Barracks are gender-neutral.

9. Does the venue have a car park?

No. Visitors should find suitable car parks in the area. Please note that there is no parking provided specifically for this event and free on street parking is limited to less than 20 spaces plus 2 accessible parking spaces. We encourage all able to do so to use public transport.

10. Will there be food at the festival?

Yes. We will have food vendors in the garden. Eating and drinking in the Gymnasium (the main festival room with vendors) is forbidden.

13. Is this a dog-friendly event?

Yes. Dogs are welcome to attend on leash.

14. Is this place accessible for disabled people?

Yes. From the entrance of the building to all other parts inside the parts where the festival happens is accessible for disabled people. There is access to disabilities toilets.

15. Who organises the Dublin Fibre Festival?

Behind this event, you will find Mira Isan, yarn dyer and knit designer of Mira Isan Studio.
